EKUMENSKI NAGLASCI PAPE IVANA PAVLA II.

POPE JOHN PAUL II ECUMENICAL EMPHASIS IN THE CONTEXT OF PILGRIMAGES IN CROATIA
ANTUN JAPUNDŽIĆ
Abstract
The long pontificate of the Pope John Paul II is marked by numerous pastoral activities in different areas, including the area of his activities and relations with other Christians. In this sense, the Pope has taken numerous steps in the fields of ecumenism and ecumenical dialogue, both through publishing numerous documents that bring ecumenical emphasis and through numerous meetings with representatives of other Churches and Church communities, as well as sermons, speeches, greetings and the like, where he expresses the ecumenical dimension of his actions. His visits to Croatia, as well as his messages to the Croatian people during his pontificate, also have their own ecumenical dimension. It is in this research, following published sources, that we want to put some ecumenical emphasis with special reference to those messages and efforts that the Pope sent to the Croatian people regarding the coexistence of different Christian denominations in our territories.
