Sažetak
Katolički nauk o braku i obitelji u suvremenome je svijetu neprestano napadan i iskrivljen kako izvana tako nerijetko i unutar Crkve, a pojmovi poput vjernosti i grijeha relativizirani su ili potpuno zaboravljeni. Potrebno je stoga uvijek iznova vraćati se istini o dostojanstvu, ljepoti i svetosti braka i obiteljskoga života. Tijekom čitavoga svog pontifikata sv. Ivan Pavao II. ovoj je temi posvećivao povlaštenu pozornost i poticao jasne mjere koje će promicati i štititi ustroj, razvoj i stalnost obitelji. Obitelj je prema njemu zajednica života utemeljena na ženidbi, »na postojanome i vjernome zajedništvu«. Polazeći od teologije tijela, koja je u određenome smislu ukorijenjena u teologiji obitelji i ujedno vodi do nje, on vidi obitelj kao sliku Presvetoga Trojstva. U tom kontekstu postaje jasno da je obitelj put Crkve i goruća tema svakoga društva. Budući da je ovo zorno pokazao u brojnim dokumentima, audijencijama i pastirskim pohodima, a to se može iščitati iz riječi koje je uputio hrvatskim obiteljima, s pravom ga papa Franjo naziva Papom obitelji. U ovome radu autor ponajprije analizira temeljne istine braka i obitelji u nauku Ivana Pavla II., ističući suvremene opasnosti koje im prijete, te konačno izdvaja specifične poticaje hrvatskim obiteljima upućene tijekom triju pastirskih pohoda.

EMANUEL PETROV (Zavidovići (BiH), 1976.) osnovnoškolsko obrazovanje završio je u rodnom mjestu, a 1991. stupio je u sjemenište »Zmajević« u Zadru i Nadbiskupsku klasičnu gimnaziju gdje je 1995. i maturirao. Filozofsko-teološki studij završio je na Vrhbosanskoj visokoj teološkoj školi u Sarajevu i Katoličkom bogoslovnom fakultetu u Splitu gdje je 2000. diplomirao. Za svećenika Splitsko-makarske nadbiskupije zaređen je u splitskoj prvostolnici 2001. Tri godine službovao je kao stariji nadstojnik u Nadbiskupskom sjemeništu i kao vjeroučitelj u Nadbiskupijskoj klasičnoj gimnaziji »Don Frane Bulić« u Splitu. Godine 2004. upućen je na poslijediplomski studij na Katholisch-Theologische Fakultät Sveučilišta Leopold-Franzens u Innsbrucku u Austriji, gdje je na Institutu za dogmatsku teologiju 2008. doktorirao. Od tada pa do 2014. službovao je kao župnik u župi sv. Jurja u Kaštel Sućurcu, a do danas u župi sv. Petra apostola na Priku u Omišu. Akademske godine 2015./2016. izabran je u suradničko zvanje i zaposlen na radnom mjestu poslijedoktoranda iz područja Humanističkih znanosti, polja Teologije i grane Dogmatske teologije na Katedri dogmatskoga bogoslovlja na KBF-u u Splitu. Krajem 2019. izabran je u znanstveno zvanje docenta na istoj katedri, a od ožujka ove godine obnaša službu i njezina pročelnika. Uže područje njegova zanimanja je proučavanje teologije Ivana Pavla II. te temâ iz teološke antropologije i pneumatologije.

Abstract
The Catholic teaching on marriage and family in the modern world is constantly attacked and distorted both from the outside but often within the very Church, and concepts such as faithfulness and sin are being relativised or completely forgotten. It is therefore necessary to return again and again to the truth about the dignity, beauty and sanctity of marriage and family life. During his entire pontificate St. John Paul II paid special attention to this topic and encouraged clear measures which will promote and protect the structure, development and permanence of the family. According to him, the family is a community of life based on marriage, «on constant and faithful communion». Starting from the theology of the body, which in a certain sense is rooted in the theology of the family and at the same time leading to it, he sees the family as an image of the Holy Trinity. In this context, it becomes clear that the family is the path of the Church and the burning issue of every society. Since he clearly demonstrated this in numerous documents, audiences and pastoral visits, and the same can be read from the words he addressed to Croatian families, he is rightfully called by the Pope Francis «the Pope of the Family». In this paper, the author first of all analyzes the fundamental truths of marriage and family in the teachings of John Paul II, highlighting the contemporary dangers threatening it, finally to single out specific incentives for Croatian families, sent during the three pastoral visits.

EMANUEL PETROV (b. 1976, Zavidovići - Bosnia and Herzegovina) completed primary school education in his hometown, and in 1991 entered the Zmajević Seminary in Zadar and the Archbishopric Classical Grammar School, where he graduated in 1995. He completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Vrhbosanska High School of Theology in Sarajevo and the Catholic Theological Faculty in Split, where he graduated in 2000. He was ordained a priest of the Split-Makarska Archdiocese in 2001. For three years he served as a senior superior in the Archbishopric Seminary and as a religion teacher in the Don Frane Bulić Archdiocesan Classical Grammar School in Split. In the fall of 2004, he was sent to the postgraduate studies at the Katholisch-Theologishe Fakultät of the Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck, Austria, where he received his doctorate at the Institute for Dogmatic Theology in 2008. After that, until 2014, he served as parish priest in the parish of St. George in Kaštel Sućurac, and to this day in the parish of St. Peter the Apostle at Priko in Omiš. From the 2015/16 academic year, he was elected to the position of an associate and employed as a post-doctoral student in the field of Humanities, Theology and the branch of Dogmatic Theology at the Department of Dogmatic Theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty in Split. At the end of 2019, he was elected to the scientific position of assistant professor at the same Department, and since March of this year, he is also holding the position of its head. His narrower field of interest is the study of the theology of John Paul II, and topics from theological anthropology and pneumatology.
