NEKA ARHEOLOŠKO-TOPOGRAFSKA PITANJA IZ AKTA CRKVENIH SABORA ODRŽANIH U SALONI 530 I 533. GODINE
Nepoznati toponimi navedeni u aktima salonitanskih koncila zapravo su imena novonastalih kasnoantičkih središta i utvrda rasutih u priobalju i zaleđu Dalmacije.

SOME ARCHAEOLOGICAL-TOPOGRAPHICAL ISSUES FROM THE ACTS OF THE CHURCH COUNCILS HELD IN SALONA IN THE YEARS 530 AND 533
MIROSLAV KATIĆ
Abstract
Previous analyzes of the acts of the Church Councils held in Salona in 530 and 533 dealt with the issues of archaeological topography with more or less success. Due to distorted names of places, confusions in texts, unknown place names, some authors questioned theirauthenticity. The new late Roman centres that appeared on the coast, the islands and in the hinterland were also looking for a better organized Church organization, especially after the liberation of Salona from the Ostrogoth rule. In the 6th century, the construction of churches intensified both in Salona itself and in the area of the Metropolis.
The aforementioned work describes the territorial features of the new dioceses, their infrastructural connection and economic significance. The fact that certain churches were built along the routes of Roman roads, in the immediate vicinity of late Roman fortifications, has not been considered until now. The unknown place names listed in the acts of the Salonitan councils are actually the names of the newly created late Roman centres and forts scattered along the coast and in the hinterland of Dalmatia.
Key words: Salonitan Church councils; archaeological topography; construction of churches; late Roman centres
