Sažetak
Sveti papa Ivan Pavao II. posjetio je Hrvatsku 1994., 1998. i 2003. uputivši ohrabrujuće i sadržajne poruke hrvatskoj Crkvi da bi učvrstio braću i sestre katoličke zajednice, koji su u doba vjerskih progona ostali vjerni Kristu. Pastoralne poruke otkrivaju koliko je Papa razumio i volio Hrvate, želeći da Crkva doživi obnovu naviještajući evanđelje i svjedočeći vjeru. Autor u svome uratku prosuđuje društveno-kulturno i crkveno surječje Papinih dolazaka i poslanih poruka. U raščlambi porukâ osvrće se na komunističko doba, na događaje Domovinskoga rata i na prijelazno razdoblje u demokratski sustav. Potom prikazuje crkvena područja za pastoralnu obnovu, raščlanjujući smjernice poslane Crkvi i svim hrvatskim građanima.

O autoru
ALOJZIJE ČONDIĆ (Svib/Imotski, 1970.) nakon završene klasične gimnazije u Nadbiskupskomu sjemeništu u Splitu, diplomirao je na Teologiji u Splitu 1995. Nakon obnašanja službe upravitelja župe, župnoga vikara i odgojitelja, poslan je na Papinsko sveučilište Lateran u Rim, gdje je doktorirao iz pastoralne teologije 2004. Od listopada 2007. predaje predmete iz pastoralnoga bogoslovlja na Katoličkomu bogoslovnom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Splitu, a na kojemu je obnašao službu prodekana za nastavu i dekana. Kao nastavnik surađuje s drugim teološkim fakultetima u Hrvatskoj, svoje znanstvene radove objavljuje u mnogim časopisima te obnaša razne svećeničke pastoralne službe.

Abstract
The Saint Pope John Paul II visited Croatia in 1994, 1998 and 2003, sending encouraging and substantive messages to the Croatian Church in order to strengthen the brothers and sisters of the Catholic community who remained faithful to Christ during the time of persecution of religion. The Pope's pastoral messages reveal how much he understood and loved the Croats, wanting the Church to experience renewal by proclaiming the Gospel and witnessing the faith. In his work, the author reasons the socio-cultural and ecclesiastical conflict of the Pope's visits and messages. In the analysis of the messages, he refers to the Communist era, the events of the Homeland War and the transition period to the democratic system. Then he demonstrates the church areas for pastoral renewal, breaking down the guidelines sent to the Church and the entire Croatian people.

About the author
ALOJZIJE ČONDIĆ (b. 1970, Svib/Imotski) after completing classical grammar school at the Archiepiscopal Seminary in Split, he graduated from the Theology in Split in 1995. After serving as a parish administrator, parish vicar and teacher, he was sent to the Lateran Pontifical University in Rome, where he received his doctorate in Pastoral Theology in 2004. Since October 2007, he has been teaching courses in Pastoral Theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Split, where he also held the positions of the vice-dean for education and the dean. As a teacher, he cooperates with other theological faculties in Croatia, publishes his scientific works in numerous magazines and holds various clerical pastoral positions.
