ULOGA DUHA SVETOGA U GOVORIMA IVANA PAVLA II. HRVATIMA

ARKADIUSZ KRASICKI

Govori pape Ivana Pavla II. Hrvatima ostaju snažnim poticajem u razvijanju duhovnosti modernoga čovjeka. Papa nam ostavlja baštinu svojih proročkih, pa čak i karizmatskih misli.

THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE SPEECHES OF JOHN PAUL II TO THE CROATS

ARKADIUSZ KRASICKI

Abstract

Teaching of John Paul II oscillates very often according to the pneumatological dimension. He sent messages to many pilgrims about the special role of the Holy Spirit. He leads the Church and makes it a real community that understands words and languages that are unknown to others (IPII, Branimir's Jubilee, Gniezno, June 3, 1979). The Holy Father in a recognizable way called the Holy Spirit over the land of Poland and the whole of Europe (ibid): «May your spirit descend and renew the face of the earth. This earth!» The Holy Spirit is the guarantor of the correct reception of the Christological message even today (cf. Eph 4:5-6). John Paul II very often uses biblical texts on which he builds his speeches. Thus, according to the John's Gospel, the Holy Spirit is described by his name «the Comforter» (cf. Jn 14:15-21). The Holy Spirit, who is the source and giver of all the holiness, continues sharing his gifts even today so that the face of the Church can be recognized more and more (IPII. Angel of the Lord, September 14, 1997, Vatican). Speeches of the Pope John Paul II to the Croats remain a strong incentive in developing the spirituality of the modern man. The Pope leaves us a legacy of his prophetic and even charismatic thoughts.
